It seems that web development finally grows up. All good browsers supported technology like SVG, CSS 3, pre-compiled JavaScript and so on - except Internet Explorer.

For ages, Internet Explorer was far, far behind and caused headache after headache for each web application developer. But it seems that Internet Explorer finally tries to catch up. According to a german article on heise online Internet Explorer 9 will support:
  • SVG 1.1
  • many modern CSS features like rounded edges, multiple background images and CSS 3 selectors
  • pre-compiled JavaScript (that means: fast JavaScript, which is very important for web applications)
  • The HTML 5 video tag (with H264 codec)

So, when IE 9 is available we might have the situation that all important browsers support the same set of important features. F i n a l l y .
